Susan has been designing clothes her whole life, starting as a child when she outfitted her dolls with her original creations. Although she achieved a BSc from Victoria University, Susan’s passion for the clothing industry sent her overseas to London, where she worked as a fashion buyer and seller in Portobello Rd and the Campden Lock markets. While in Europe she travelled extensively, sampling clothing markets as diverse as the ones in Paris, Athens, and Ibiza. Susan subsequently relocated to Sydney, where she started her own women’s fashion label, based on the latest trends from London.

Long Experience in Bridal Fashion
Returning to New Zealand fifteen years ago, Susan’s creative energies began to be directed primarily towards bridal fashion. Not only did the wide range of wedding dress styles — from classic and traditional to funky and cutting edge — appeal to her, but she found herself enjoying the challenge of designing unique, individual wedding gowns to suit the look and style of each individual bride.
“I love being part of the excitement leading up to a big event,” says Susie. “A lot of women have dreamed of their wedding day their entire life, and I love helping them create the perfect dress to realise that dream.”
Susie prides herself on giving each individual bride her personal attention. She knows that wedding preparations can often be hectic and stressful, and thus she tries to set her appointments to suit her customers’ schedules rather than the other way round.
Her centrally located Mt Eden studio is often described by loyal customers as a haven in the rush to get things ready for the big day. Susie offers great design, expert dressmaking, and friendly honest advice in a relaxed atmosphere.
